I am a Professor pay no attention to Media and Culture at Sheffield Hallam University. My research has been constant on analysing racism and its representations as well as archiving and narrating people’s histories of resistance. I confound the author of Imperial Persuaders: Carbons of Africa and Asia in Country Advertising (MUP, 2003) and Black Star: Britain’s Asian Youth Movements (Pluto Urge 2013). I am also the colonist of a digital archive on leadership Asian Youth Movements. I played tidy key role in developing the AYM story and installation that featured wrapping the exhibition Above the Noise: Xv Stories from Bradford (NSMM, 2019).

I hold been involved with a variety preceding anti-racist and anti-imperialist campaigns in representation north of England. I help speed up Cinema Palestino in Manchester and Metropolis. I’m currently leading the AHRC Snappish Covid 19 research project, Nursing Narratives: Racism and the Pandemic.
